AI Digital Microscope Tests for Pets in Nicosia
With our digital microscope and artificial intelligence we examine blood, faecal and urine samples right here in the clinic. The vet always reviews and interprets the results.

What is an AI digital microscope?
It is a modern microscope that takes high-resolution images of the sample. Artificial intelligence software helps to quickly find and count what we see, such as blood cells, parasite eggs or crystals in the urine.
The technology does not make decisions on its own. The vet always checks the images and interprets the results, together with the examination of your pet and their history.
Which tests we do
- Blood. A blood smear, to look at the shape and number of blood cells. It helps with anaemia, infections and inflammation.
- Faeces. A search for eggs and other forms of gut parasites. Several pet parasites can also infect people, so regular checks protect the whole family.
- Urine. A look at the urine sediment for crystals, cells and bacteria. It helps with bladder and kidney problems.
When are these tests needed?
- When your pet has diarrhoea, vomiting or weight loss
- When they pee often, with difficulty, or you see blood in the urine
- When they are tired, have pale gums or a fever
- For puppies and kittens, to check for parasites
- At the yearly health check and for senior pets
How it works at our clinic
- Sample. We take a little blood at the clinic, or test the faecal or urine sample you bring. If needed, we collect the urine sample ourselves.
- Analysis. The sample is examined on the digital microscope in the clinic.
- Vet review. The vet looks at the images, checks the findings and combines them with your pet's other tests.
- Explanation. We explain the results and, if treatment is needed, we often start it the same day.
Parasites and prevention
Faecal tests are not only for pets with diarrhoea. Many pets carry gut parasites without any signs. We suggest regular checks:
- For puppies and kittens, who pick up parasites more easily
- For pets that hunt, eat raw meat or spend a lot of time outside
- In homes with young children or people with weak immunity
- After treatment, to make sure it worked
The results help us build the right deworming plan for your pet, and send you SMS reminders.
Why it matters
When the test is done in the clinic, you do not wait days for results and treatment can start sooner. Together with the blood tests we run on site, it gives us a fast and complete picture of your pet's health.
Frequently asked questions
What does the artificial intelligence do?
It helps us quickly find and count cells, crystals, bacteria or parasite eggs in the sample. The vet always checks and interprets the results.
How quickly will I get results?
Usually during the same visit, because the sample is examined in the clinic and not sent to an outside laboratory.
How do I bring a faecal sample?
Collect a fresh sample, ideally from the same day, in a clean closed container. If you cannot bring it straight away, keep it in the fridge (not the freezer), well sealed.
How do I bring a urine sample from my cat?
Ask us about special litter that does not absorb urine. Often it is better for us to take the sample at the clinic, so it is clean.
Does it replace other blood tests?
No. It adds to the full blood count and biochemistry tests. Together they give a more complete picture of your pet's health.
